Jesus and Judas fight Roman zombies, Pharisian zombies and cowboy zombies with piranhas, swordfish and over-sized crosses while shouting at the top of their voices to a cheesy 80s-style soundtrack. Is it any surprise that it's epic?

Trashy simplicity. When less is more. Lovingly obscure, underground, energetic. Short as shit — but worthy of support. Pledge your allegiance!

Better than The Passion of the Christ (2004).
Why the hell didn't I watch this during Easter? THAT IS kicking arse for the Lord!

Official 1st Selection of russman's Letterboxd Movie Night VI.
Probably a more faithful throwback to Redneck Zombies-era 80's Troma than Poultrygeist. I don't remember a fist at any point being utilized. But... lots of fish action.
Appropriate re-titling: Prawn of Jesus.
(I wasn't too impressed. I kept thinking I should be watching this instead.
Again.)
I'd give Judas bonus points for pulling the City of the Living Dead routine as key to open the zombie gates of hell, but he was a little late on that.

Very reminiscent of Braindead, and not just in a "I kick ass for the Lord!" sense. Gore-soaked stuff as a cowardly Jesus and a reluctant Judas team up to avert the zombie apocalypse they caused by reviving Larry.
If you've seen the makers previous short BRUTAL RELAX, you know what to expect. Expertly crafted practical gore by the bucketload. It's fairly amusing in places and quite imaginative in some of the gruesome moments.
