Student Parking Application Instructions | Westfield High School (2024)

Parking hang-tags are distributed randomly by grade level in person.Thedate and time of application submission do not correlate to assigned parking spots.

It is extremely important for you to take your time and ensure all information entered into the online form is complete and correct. At the time of pick-up, students must have the proper picture ID and proof of payment.

Please review the directions below. The link to the application will be found at the conclusion of the instructions.

Step 1: Gather the Following Documents

  • Driver's License or Learner's Permit
  • Primary vehicle information:
    • Owner, make, model, color, license plate number, and license plate state
      • Listed vehicles must be registered to the applicant and/or the applicant’s parent or guardian
  • Secondary vehicle information (if applicable):
    • Owner, make, model, color, license plate number, and license plate state
      • Listed vehicles must be registered to the applicant and/or the applicant’s parent or guardian
  • Insurance information

Step 2: Complete & Submit the Google Form

(Submissions open August 9that 3:00 pm)

Student and parent or guardian must complete the application together

  • You must be logged out of all other Google accounts.
  • Sign in to yourFCPS Googleaccount to complete the Google Form.
    • In the case of forgotten passwords, you canrecover or reset here.
  • Only one response per FCPS student ID will be allowed.
  • Google will save your progress and answers along the way.
  • For the purpose of the application, students commuting to Westfield who are siblings residing in the same household, both possessing a driver’s permit/license, and who will take turns driving, can be designated as “carpoolers” and should indicate such at the appropriate place on the application. However, each student must submit a separate application and complete the requirements individually.
  • The parking application will include a parental attestationattesting to their student’s legal right to drive in Virginia.

Step 3: Watch the Student Safety BriefingVideo

  • Use the weblink referenced at the conclusion of the Google Form to view a digital version of the Student Parking Meeting via EdPuzzle.
  • Participation in viewing this safety briefing is a mandatory part of the application process to ensure all student drivers understand the safety expectations on campus.The video viewing will be verified and a cumulative quiz administered at the end.
    • Students must pass with an 80% or higher score to demonstrate knowledge of the Westifeld parking expectations.
    • To expedite pickup, please screenshot your passing score.
      • This score will be verified - discrepancies may result in revoking your hang-tag.
  • You are required to pass the quiz before receiving your parking hang-tag.

Step 4:Pay for Parking Hang-Tag

Payment will only be accepted via the official FCPS online payment processor, MySchoolBucks. You may pay for your parking hang-tag only after completing the previous steps.

  • Go towww.myschoolbucks.comand click on "login"
  • Login using your user/name and password if you have an account, click "login"
    • If you do not already have an account, click on "sign up today" and follow the prompts to set up an account.
  • Once you are logged in, click on school store payments
  • Click on "browse all items"
  • You are now in the school store and can view all products to make payment
    • Please note that there are multiple pages, so you may need to click "next" to find what you are looking for OR you may sort/filter items using the product categories listed on the left side. Select Parking.
  • Select Student Parking Permit
    • Select your current grade
    • The current parking rate will automatically populate
  • Payment notifications will be automaticallysent to the security team for review.
    • It is suggested that you be able to provide proof of payment by having your email confirmation on hand at time of pick-up.
      • To expedite pickup, please screenshot your receipt.
        • Your payment will be verified - discrepancies may result in revoking your hang-tag.

Step 5: In-Person Hang-Tag Pickup

Bring yourstate-issued picture ID. Accepted state-issued picture ID’s include hard copy learner’s permits or driver’s licenses. Student ID’s will not be accepted.

  • Parking assignments are randomly assigned by grade level.
  • Parking is subject to availability as determined by the County and on-site Safety and Security Specialist.
  • DO NOT BRING PAYMENT:payment for parking fees is only collected online via MySchoolBucks.
  • Students who may have free or reduced lunch eligibility, please contact Ms. Coots prior to submitting payment via MySchoolBucks.
